HPB proposed a privacy-preserving Layer 2 solution!
HPB has published a blue paper, plus code, detailing how a Layer 2 solution can support greater privacy whilst maintaining high throughput on High Performance Blockchain.
Privacy-preserving zero-knowledge proofs require significant extra computational power, so this solution shifts work to Layer 2. The users' wallet balance and value transacted are not made public, yet the system can be supervised by the operator to prevent money laundering.
